With Christmas nearly here its a great time to celebrate Bake Cookies Day! Yes its a real thing.
Perfect for this time of year, prepare a batch for carol singers or guests. Here a simple recipe for custard cookies thats a favourite in our office.
These cookies are easy to make and a great one to do with the kids, cheap ingredients but an absolute winner.

125g butter

85g cup caster sugar

1/2 teaspoon vanilla essence

1 egg

510g plain flour

85g custard powder
Directions
Soften the butter and place in a bowl, mix in the sugar and vanilla.
sift the flour and custard powder into the butter mix and combine well.
Cover the mix in cling film the put in the fridge for half an hour, it makes it easier to roll.
Roll out the pastry and cut into cookie shapes. 
On baking parchment put the cookies in a pre-heated oven at about 170c for only 10-12 minutes.
Enjoy the cooking smell and then fight everyone off for the spoils.
