- Question:
Hi Chris
Thank you very much for your quote.
I’m very interested but have a few things to sort, dates etc therefore is it ok if I come back to you tomorrow?
Catherine - (27-08-2019)
- Response:
Hello Catherine, sorry for the late reply, I've been driving, rather sat in traffic jams and road works all day. It's taken me 11.5 hours to deliver a TVR Tuscan from Penzance to Manchester! A lorry crashed on the M6, only six miles before my turn off. Three hours to do six miles, much easier driving in France!
I'd love to deliver your Landrover for you. I spend a lot of time to and fro to France. We have a house in the Limousin and I tend to favour French trips.
Let me know what your plans are and I'll do my absolute best for you. I will match any reasonable price and can be very flexible with dates and times.
I live near Plymouth so not far from the ferry to Roscoff.
I look forward to hearing from you.
Many thanks Chris - (28-08-2019)
- Question:
Many thanks for your reply, no worries, there's no rush. You must have the patience of a saint!
I don't think I have done things correctly since losing my husband in 2017, with regard the Landrover which was here in France at that time. On advice I exported it but have never registered it here in France as it's been off road ever since. Do you know if this going to be a problem getting it back as it's not registered either here or in the UK?
I'm sure I should have done things differently but following his death, as you can probably understand, I was all over the place.
Catherine

- Response:
Hello again Catherine, I'm sorry to hear of your loss, I can't imagine how difficult it will have been for you. I can help with the repatriation of the Landrover. Just a thought, as it's near Roscoff, I could collect it and get it back to my garage and recommission it for you, or deliver it to you as is. Either way I'd be glad to help.
I am completely flexible with dates and times.
If you are happy with my quote, please go ahead and book it.
We will then receive each other's contact details and we will be able to make final arrangements. There's no time limit.
Many thanks Chris - (28-08-2019)
- Question:
Thanks again for coming back to me.
The Landie is going back to my brother in law, who is going to attempt to sell it for me as I've tried from France without any joy.
I think he has suggested sorning it once in his possession, so I'm not sure that I need to have it recommissioned at this stage. I will check with him though and see what he says. I was more concerned about it not being registered anywhere, but if I understand correctly, you don't seem to think that will be a problem. The lowest quote I've received is £898 but I only posted it late yesterday, not sure if anything else will come through. I would be looking for it to go back from 2nd week Sept onwards, silly question but I assume you have insurance etc? Best wishes Catherine

- Question:
Sorry Chris - I should have asked I suppose - what does repatriation/recommission actually mean?
Cath - (28-08-2019)
- Response:
Hello again Catherine, sorry again for the late reply.
I've been driving all day again, not finished yet!
By recommisioning, I meant getting it back on the road, and by repatriation, getting it recognised and back in the UK system.
I own a large garage in Gunnislake, Cornwall so I have the correct insurance etc. I also sell vehicles so know about the paperwork etc.
Can you let me have the registration number and I can see if it comes up in the system?
I may even be interested in buying it from you, if you can let me know more details.
Thanks again, Chris - (28-08-2019)
- Question:
No Im sorry for all the questions and thank you for your patience.
Ok, that’s interesting to know.
The reg is GY53 TXL - Kev had it from new and it was MOTd at Roger Young’s, Saltash 2014. It’s been off road since - not sure you need to know that. Cath - (28-08-2019)
- Response:
Hello again Catherine,
Have you had any more thoughts on the Landrover?
I was serious about possibly being interested in buying it from you.
Could you give me more details about it and an idea of a price.
Do you have it advertised at present, can I see the advert somewhere perhaps?
It may save you the trouble of getting it transported and I would take it as it is, if we came to an agreement.
Please let me know what you think.
Many Thanks, Chris - (29-08-2019)

Hello again Catherine,
The Landrover is showing up on the DVLA database.
Last MOT expired 16th March 2018.
There will be no problem with the paperwork.
Please let me sort it out for you.
Many thanks Chris - (28-08-2019)
- Question:
Hi. I’ve done nothing but and have spoken to my brother in law and friends for advice and they’ve suggested between £10.500 - £11.500. I appreciate you would be coming to collect it so would leave it to you to suggest what you think it’s worth. If you have an email address I can send you photos if you’d like. It was registered in Oct 2003 and Kev had it from new. It has 145500 on the clock.
Regardless of whether you do buy it or not, I would be more than happy for you to take it back to the UK for me.
Cath - (29-08-2019)
- Response:
Thank you for getting back to me Catherine,
The biggest problem on here is communication. I can't share any contact details as they will either be blocked or I will be expelled from the site. They just don't allow it, it makes life very difficult at times where more communication is required.
I think the only way we will get to speak to each other is for you to accept my bid, which I understand is a lot to ask of you. But then I guess if you're happy for me to transport the Landrover regardless of whether I buy it or not then nothing will be lost.
I'll leave it to you as I already feel that I'm being a little forceful for which I apologise.
Thanks again, Chris - (29-08-2019)
- Question:
Can I accept the bid without agreeing a date, as this has to be agreed with my brother in law, who’s is now on holiday for a week?
Cath - (29-08-2019)
- Response:
Yes, no problem at all. There will be no limit on the date.
We will be going on holiday at some point but we can work around that one.
Thanks Chris - (29-08-2019)
- Question:
Okey dokey.
I’ll do it in the morning.

- Response:
Hello Catherine, thank you for accepting my quote.
I'll give you a call later and have a chat if that's OK, I'm a bit tied up for the moment
Thanks again
