Questions

Question: Hi, when are you looking at getting these collected and delivered, any firm dates or flexible next couple weeks?
Regards, Chris - yourbike (07-05-2021)
Response: Thanks you for contacting me,

What I actually am looking does not seem possible to do with your quoting system.

I actually have two bikes to pick up, one in Atherton the other from Warrington. The one in Warrington is at a dealers so is available to pick up anytime and is literally a mile off the M6.
The Atherton pick up might need a bit more checking as the person who has it obviously has a job, so some organising needs to be done there.
The other issue is that both bikes are to be shipped to the Isle of Man and Covid restrictions firstly mean that they need to sit on the quay for three days before they are transported on the ferry, one of the bikes I am not too worried about, the Honda is a bit of a gem so I am less keen for it to be sat on a salty dockside for three days. Therefore I need to talk to the ferry company to see who much they are going to rob me to transport the bikes, where they can be stored whilst in quarantine and how much care they will take of them. My experience is a rope thrown round the bike and lashed to a railing....and that is when I am there! I am not over happy leaving them to their own devices. I do know one of the crew on the boat so may well see him to see if it feasible to oversee the loading crew with my bike.

As far as the quote is concerned, so far so good, I feel it is good value, but the other issues are concerning me a liitle. So if nothing comes of it, it won’t be due to your quote, it will be other factors.

Many thanks

Keith Williams
Question: Hi Keith.

Thanks for the reply, I haven’t actually sent a quote yet but thanks for the info, yea tricky one with the sitting on the Dockside for 3 days certainly not ideal, I’m based near Morecambe so could be pretty flexible on delivery but would have to be during the week of the 24th for that as I’m fully booked next couple of weeks with other bike deliveries.

Response: Thanks Chris, as you can see there is a few things to sort out yet, so the whole plan could easily collapse.
I will be in touch if all the planets align.

Question: Hi Keith.

No problem at all.

Cheers, Chris - yourbike (08-05-2021)
Response: Hii Simon, there are few issues that I could not put on the ammended enquiry which you might not have seen yet.
The Bikes are to be shipped to the Isle of Man and would need to be loaded onto the ferry, the crew know better than to screw with bikers on this island! so will not put the bikes on the ferry themselves. To add to the issues next week there is only one sailing a day and that will be on the Seacat, the good news is that it is in Port quite a bit longer than the Normal "Ship" ferry. They are happy for you to drive the van onto the ferry, unload the bikes and drive off, unless you want a trip to the Isle of Man, which I doubt. The Ferry will be loading from about Midday to 2pm, so a fairly big window.
The other issue that I could not put on the quote is that the Yamaha is in Tamworth and will be ready to pick up, so no problem there, the Honda is at a dealers in Warrington and again is ready to be picked up during business hours, the good news is that the shop is about a mile off the M6 so it should be a simple dip on and off the motorway.
If you can let me know if this is still a possibility , I am not worried which day you want to do it as I have been waiting weeks already due to other factors .

Many Thanks
Keith Williams
