I accepted a delivery quote from Richard Hibbotson for a delivery from Sandwich to Liverpool,
all seemed to be going fine from collection of the van until an overnight stop by Richard when the Van was parked in an Industrial Estate near his home, or as the police described "abandoned" , The van was towed by the police to a storage facility, I was contacted by Richard who informed that he usually parks Vans here, The upswing of the towing was that he refused to pay the towing charge of £160 even though he had the van in his care, after a long battle he refunded me half the fee, after some time i discovered discovered that i was also charged £5.00 by the auction company where he arrived without a hi-viz and when he was being refused access he decided to put the charge on my account,
would i use delivery quote again....i would say yes but definately not this contractor

The collection was agreed for the Monday morning in Stranraer with a delivery of Monday mid to late afternoon in Devon. I then received a phone call to say that Richard was too tired after a trip to Europe the day before. I was fine with that and said I would rather everything got here in one piece both my Motorhome and Richard. We agreed that Tuesday would be the day. I left Richard alone all of Tuesday and rang him at 18:30 on the night to see if he was nearly here.
Richard was in Preston and hadn't collected my Motorhome until 3pm.
Even that wouldn't have been so bad if I would have had a telephone call at some point? When I rang him I said where are you going to sleep tonight and he said I will have to drive home wont I? He lives in Sheffield! He said when he turned up he stayed at a friends house and later texted to see if his friends keys were in my motorhome? I will leave it at that. Neither positive or Negative the Motorhome was delivered and that is what I wanted after all. If Richard could learn to communicate with his customers I think I would use him again but I was left feeling a little bit put out having to chase him. Response:Firstly I did explain to the customer I was Delayed in France to Migrant disruption in the Channel Tunnel, Secondly If I could of got to Stranraer at 9am I certainly would of done so, it takes almost 8 Hours from my nearest Station (Chesterfield) and 2pm was the earliest I could get there I did explain this Finally I certainly did intend to call the customer that I was running late but due to a flat battery on mobile which i was unable to charge up, and the fact i was nowhere near a Service station which can happen to any one I was a little late informing him. When your are traveling over long distances things happen its always a fluid situation I try to explain this to people and most understand but some Unfortunately do not, I fully understand the gentlemans frustration but we always try our very best to please keep the client updated and arrive on time . Richard. PS, if the gentleman cares take to look at all my other Feedback he will see I have (Excellent Communication) with every single other customer I have dealt with. | |
