Since our launch 3 weeks ago we’ve seen a huge demand for air freight quote requests. Of the 107 quote requests processed over 24% have been for air freight, making it the 2nd most popular category after shipping. The air freight requests have ranged from a consignment of plastic moose antlers (how very strange?!) to an import consignment of baby mats.
Over the last 18 months air freight volumes have collapsed as companies sought more cost efficient ways to import / export; however for express, time sensitive consignments air freight is the only way. Hopefully this upward trend will bring some relief to air freight forwarders who have suffered enormously during this current economic downturn.
