Further information: Hi, please don't be put off by my lack of feedback on here, it's a site I've just joined after starting my own business. I have 15 years experience transporting everything from mopeds to articulated lorries. I have a class 1 licence, a traders policy and 50k Goods in Transit insurance. I have a 4x4 and trailer with a winch and I will look after your car as if it was my own.
If you require any further information please get in touch. Many thanks,
Luke.
- Question:
Hi Luke,
How soon would you be able retrieve the car and drop it to me?
Thank, Tom - (14-07-2021)
- Response:
Hi Tom,
I am fully booked up until Friday, I could do it this Saturday or any day next week? What is the fault with the car? It would be picked up and brought straight down on my trailer.
Thanks, Luke - (14-07-2021)
- Question:
The car just won’t start and 3 different mechanics can’t tell me what’s wrong with it. I broke down whilst on a little vacation in Humbleton, Hull, and a mobile mechanic diagnosed inlet manifold was cracked. Fantastic. He replaced the part, showed me it was fixed via smoke machine, tried to start the motor up and it just wouldn’t start. We got a taxi home for £212. Fast forward 3 weeks and the car is still there and the mechanic has run out of ideas. RAC wouldn’t touch it either. So it would need to be winched onto your trailer. I’m not currently with the car, the owner of the holiday resort has the key as it’s parked on his land. Saturday would amazing if you could?
Cheers, Tom - (14-07-2021)
- Response:
Is it going to a garage or back to your house? Would it be ok to pick it up on Friday Afternoon and deliver it Saturday? It would be left on the trailer overnight, locked up, the trailer has 2 locks and is parked on my driveway in Doncaster and blocked in by 2 other cars and covered on my insurance so don’t worry!!
Thanks, Luke - (14-07-2021)
- Question:
Yet to confirm delivery location. Both are within 1 mile of each other. There is one garage I may enquire about that is about 25 miles from me, I believe it doesn’t affect your journey distance but if it does then I understand the quote will change.
Absolutely you can pick up and drop off whenever you like before Saturday. I will just need to give the guy who has the key a time and which day you decide to pick up. Are you okay agreeing a pick up time and leave the delivery location with me until I get answer? - (14-07-2021)
- Response:
Yes that’s fine just let me know, obviously if it’s a garage I’ll need to know what time they close. Just to give you another option, there is a very good Jaguar specialist in Doncaster (called the Jag Specialist) if you wanted, you’d have to travel up here to collect it but the recovery would be cheaper?
Pick up would be around 4pm on Friday but I can give you or the person with the key a ring when I’m 60 or 30 minutes away?
Thanks, Luke - (14-07-2021)
- Question:
I had considered alternative jag specialists but Doncaster is still so far away from where we are. At this point we like the idea of the car being fairly local. One of the garages I need to call tomorrow is a jag specialist so hopefully they are happy to take it on. I appreciate your honest suggestion though. Should I let the owner know you’ll be there between 3-5? The car is quite safe so he could just leave the key on the wheel. No one is going anywhere with it! - (14-07-2021)
- Response:
Yes that sounds good, I have a job booked tomorrow that should be straight forward before I go to collect yours but the time I collect yours could vary a bit; between 3 and 5 should be about right though. Because of how this site works you will have to accept the quote on here and pay their booking fee before I can pick up. Getting the car to Colchester on Saturday will still be fine. Thanks, Luke - (15-07-2021)
