I had already contacted Interparcel who don't ship 'white goods' so I used this site... I could have saved myself £50! Not only did the shipper use another company but they used inaccurate information with Interparcel/Yodel; the weight of the dishwasher was 40Kg but this shipper only put 30Kg in their quote with Interparcecl. Hence the reason why they could use Interparcel without calling their customer services or advising them the shipment was 'white goods'. | 1 narrow, light bookshelf. 1 small, disassembled desk and 5-6 large boxes | ejanderson | I accepted this company's bid for the job (which was listed as a bookshelf, a desk and 6 boxes), and after a few days of to-and-fro with emails - including pick-up and delivery address details, they emailed back saying the quote was based on the boxes only and that they don't deliver furniture. Seeing as the words 'bookshelf and desk' were in the email subject line every time, this was pretty annoying. Response:Our bid was for only 5-6 items, we were ready to collect and deliver. | emmigrating to Georgia from the UK | wknight | worst experience i have ever had doing business with any company, not just shipping. quoted one price for door to door service, once they had my consignments i got e mails telling me i had to pay more, then once i paid that there were even more charges when the shipment got here to the US, while trying to get worldwide to handle things the consignment went into demaurage so i was charged even more once again. paid that and then still didnt recieve my consignment for almost a week more. was told by the driver that his company had it scheduled for delivery for the three previous days but the other driver is lazy so they didnt bother. top it off, the consignment did finally arrive but could not be unloaded because the drivers tail lift was not functioning, luckily i am a mechanic by trade and fixed his truck or i would probably still not have my things. avoid this company like the plague, they were also over paid on one occasion and promised a refund which has never materialized. stay well away unless you dont mind paying double what they quote you. their salesmen are a joke as well, they screen their phone calls and only pick up for new, so if you have problems call them from someone elses phone and hear them make up stories about how the connection is bad blah blah and then blatantly hang up. if i still lived on that side of the pond i would stop in myself and put the phone somewhere it might not get good reception but i would feel loads better for it.
