Questions

Question: Could you please let me know what needs moving , and do you wish to travel with your items.
- safcrudd (06-12-2017)
Response: I've now filled in the inventory, but much of the info is beyond what's in there. The large/awkward items are: large bookcase, 4-drawer filing cabinet (heavy), bicycle, guitar. There is also an inflatable dinghy, which has been rolled up small enough to fit in a large Sainsbury's bag, and various percussion - mainly a bodhran (the round Irish drum you play with a beater) and several pairs of bongos. I think there might be an ironing board. Apart from that, it's old ICT equipment (PCs, laptop, VCRs, hifi) and lots of boxes. (By the way, this is all from memory, as I haven't been there for 3 months, so can't guarantee I haven't forgotten something, but I last moved it all in May, so have a pretty good idea of it.) I think there are 6-8 large plastic crates full of papers, a suitcase and probably around 15-30 smaller cardboard boxes, containing things like LPs, clothes, crockery & cutlery, and more papers.
--------------------------------
To answer your other question, yes I'd like to travel with my items. If it adds considerably to the price (more than £20 or so), then I might prefer to travel by train - I could almost certainly get there ahead of you to let you in.
Question: Hi, when do you want the collection/delivery? Thanks Mike - tesla_couriers (06-12-2017)
Response: On Sunday 17th. Ideally, I'd like to leave around noon, but I can be flexible on this.

By the way, I've now filled in the inventory section, but much of what I would have wanted to put in there was not available as options. So here's the info I've given to other providers who have asked:

Question: Hi, what needs moving?
Thanks Ash. - ashpatel (06-12-2017)
Response: Hi Ash, I've now filled in the inventory, but much of the info is beyond what's in there. The large/awkward items are: large bookcase, 4-drawer filing cabinet (heavy), bicycle, guitar. Question: Can i have the size of the bookcase.
Kev - safcrudd (09-12-2017)
Response: From memory again, I'd say about 4' wide, about 7-8' tall and about 15" deep.

By the way, I am limited on the date that I can move: it would need to be Sunday 17th. (Ideally, I'd like it to be leaving around noon, although I'm fairly flexible on that.)
Question: Ok, thanks for getting back to me,
I'm sure that will all fit into the van,
Look forward to hearing from you,
Thanks Ash, - ashpatel (09-12-2017)
Response: That's good to hear. Could moving the filing cabinet cause any difficulties? It is very heavy and will have to be carried down stairs in Stafford and up stairs in London. When I've lifted it with a housemate it was a real struggle for us, though two removal men in May managed to make it look fairly easy!

Two other things. Firstly, I am limited on the date that I can move: it would need to be Sunday 17th. Ideally, I'd like it to be leaving around noon, although I'm fairly flexible on that.

Secondly, would it be possible to travel with you down to London? If this is not possible, or would add substantially to the quote (more than £20 or thereabouts), I'd need to book a train ticket.
Question: Hi,
Sorry but we are not working on Sundays. What about collection on Tuesday 19th, delivery on Wednesday 20th?
Thanks
Mike - tesla_couriers (09-12-2017)
Response: I'm afraid I can only do the Sunday. I will need to be there in Stafford to lock and unlock, and leave the key for the landlord. I will be working in London on Tuesday 19th and have a dentist appointment on Wednesday 20th.
Question: Can the bookshelf be flattened ? - safcrudd (10-12-2017)
Response: I'm afraid not. It was a flat-pack assembly, but involved driving nails into hardboard and assembly was a bit of a hassle. Practically, I don't think this can be undone.
Question: Ok. I'm out then , too big for my van - safcrudd (10-12-2017)
Response: No response yet
Question: I wouldn't be able to do the filing cabinet by myself as I work alone,
Sunday 17th is ok at the moment,
As for travelling that's not a problem but I would have to take out travel insurance for passengers as my insurance only covers goods in transit,
Look forward to hearing from you,
Thanks Ash. - ashpatel (10-12-2017)
Response: No response yet
Question: Hi, we can also offer collection on Friday 22nd late in the evening, delivery on Saturday 23rd.
Let me know if it is suitable for you.
Regards,
Mike - tesla_couriers (10-12-2017)
