- Response:
Hi Ben
Please see the below T&Cs - Can you please confirm the value of the ring?
1. ENHANCED COVER World Options enhanced cover provides a level of cover above that which is obtainable as standard from the courier used to ship the goods. Therefore, any claim under World Options Enhanced cover will only be processed after a successful claim for loss or damage with the courier.
2. PERIOD OF COVER The Period of cover will commence when the goods leave the named collection address for the commencement of transit and ceases on delivery to the named delivery address or place of storage at the destination or on expiry of 30 days whichever may first occur.
3. GOODS / SUBJECT MATTER COVERED All Goods sufficiently packed and/or protected for transit not defined within Excluded Goods for which World Options have received instructions to provide enhanced cover including used and/or pre-used and/or second hand Goods.
4. PACKAGING All goods must be packaged in line with the following terms as a minimum, however further precautions may be necessary in many circumstances. As such, these terms do not constitute a warranty. (i) Two parcel labels must be placed on the package and the internal goods must also be labeled to identify both sender and receiver. (ii) Sufficient internal cushioning must be used to support the goods inside the box from internal movement. (iii) The use of a triple walled, corrugated cardboard box to provide external protection is required. Heavier items will need extra additional internal cushioning and support along with a stronger box. This needs to be sufficient to protect your goods from normal and irregular movements that take place in carrier systems.
(iv) Parcels must not be strapped or attached together. No claim can be made for any additional item that was strapped to the original in the event that they become separated in transit. (v) Any item travelling through courier services must be able to withstand a one metre drop.

(c) Goods in Transit within UK / UK up to Free On Board / Import / Export may be covered up to a maximum of £7,500.00, with the Exception of DHL and UPS services where cover of up to £50,000.00 may be obtained.

(n) Radioactive contamination from nuclear devices.
(iii) Cover must be confirmed at the booking stage of a shipment and may not be retroactively applied once goods are in transit. (iv) In the event that the cover at the time of loss is less than the total value of the property you will only be entitled to recover up to the cover selected. (v) Cover may only be obtained for the cost price of the goods being shipped and not for the retail price. - Question:
Martin,
''EXCLUDED GOODS Precious metals, diamonds and other stones''
Surely this would mean that the ring would not be covered by the insurance??
Cheers,
Ben - (04-10-2016)
- Response:
Hi Martin
"Precious metals, diamonds and other stones'' refers to their raw state not a finished product. Example being; if shipping a diamond on its own or any high value metals
Thanks
