Questions

Question: Hello,

Do you have any dates in mind for the transport you're needing? I ask because I'm in the area on Sunday as I'm delivering another yacht not far from you, so I could collect and deliver on Sunday if this was convenient for yourself.

Regards
Alastair - weeal74 (14-05-2013)
Response: Hi
Yes Sunday would be fine. Just speaking to my partner now as it is his boat. He is a little unsure how road worthy the trailer is. He only bought the boat last weekend and we went up to cardigan to view it. But we can't really remember what the trailer was like.
--------------------------------
Hi Alastair
Did you get my last email
Question: Hi Nikkililly,

Well if you can try and find out just how road worthy it is, although I understand that if you're not there then you can only take someone else's word for it, then I'm sure we can work something out.

Regards
Alastair - weeal74 (14-05-2013)
Response: Rob is going to email them when he gets into work soon. Then I will get back to you. Do you have a rough idea of how much it will cost from cardigan to warrington?
Question: Hi,

That'd be great and just let me know when you hear something. As for price I'd be looking for something around the £300.

Regards
Alastair - weeal74 (14-05-2013)
Response: Hi Alastair

Just to keep you informed, rob has emailed the couple he bought the boat from and we are just waiting on a reply from them. I will get in touch as soon as i hear anything

regards
Question: Good morning Nikki,

Thanks for keeping me posted, my messages from here constantly come through to me to no worries there.

Regards
Alastair - weeal74 (15-05-2013)
Response: Good Morning Alastair
Sorry its took so long to get back to you. The people who rob have bought the boat off have only just got back to him.
They have told him that the trailer moves freely and is ok but it isnt a braked trailer.

If you could get back to me as soon as poss that would be great

Regards

Nikki
Question: My trailer isn't for bilge type hulls I'm affraid - cv-transport (15-05-2013)
Response: No response yet
Question: Hi Nikki,

That's ok, I understand fully that you had to wait for them to get back you. Well not being a braked trailer isn't great, more so on the first half of the roads, they're not the best, however those of us that do tow boats/caravans use big/heavy enough vehicles and have to have more regular than normal services, so it's just a case of a little more caution.
Have yourself and Rob talked about times for collection/delivery? Personally speaking I prefer to overnight, as there's never really any traffic, but then it's only a short hop really, but given the roads and un-braked trailer, I'd hazard a guess at a little over 3hrs

Question: Hi Nikki,

Sorry, I got my timings all wrong there, it will take a between 4 & half / 5hrs, given speed limits and the roads.

Question: Hi Nikki,

Well Sunday is fine by me, I am slightly concerned though as to what we do should I arrive there only to find out the trailer isn't legal, ie, not falling apart, legal tyres, lights working, other than that I'm good to go this end.

Regards
Alastair - weeal74 (17-05-2013)
Response: Hi Alastair
This is Rob. I thought you would have a light board ?? I can go down + fasten a new light board on it and check the tyres + replace as necessary but due to work commitments it would be the middle of the week before it would be ready, I can't really check the bearings tho only grease them + pray, the trailer has been used to take the boat to its mooring on a 20 mile round trip twice a year and the sellers said it tows ok but I honestly couldn't guarantee it !!
Question: Hi Rob,

Yes a light board I have and think I'll bring it anyway just in case. The tyres obviously I can't replace, I wouldn't personally worry to much about the bearings and I will bring a grease gun just to grease everything up before setting of, lol and then like you say, pray. So if you would prefer to check and if need be replace the tyres during the week, then that's fine by me, I've a job on Mon/Tue, but could be there anytime from Tuesday evening onwards.

Response: Hi Alastair
That's great :-) how would Wednesday or Thursday be for you?
Question: Hi Rob,

How does Wednesday sound? I can either be there in plenty of time to have it moved Wednesday, or later in the day and moved it evening/night ready for inspection at from what I can tell is a marina (from the postcode supplied)

Regards
Alastair - weeal74 (17-05-2013)
Response: Hi Alastair
The later the better if its Wednesday. The place I'm putting it is not available until Thursday morning.
The place it currently is, is in the garden of the previous owners. This is about 10 miles from cardigan bay I think
Question: Hi Rob,

Later is fine by me, will you be there on Wednesday or just at the place you're putting it on Thursday? I can have it there waiting on Thursday for as early as you want as I assume you will have work commitments.

Regards
Alastair - weeal74 (17-05-2013)
Response: I will meet you at fiddlers ferry in warrington on Thursday morning. I'm hopefully going up to cardigan tomorrow and then I will b able to have a good look at the trailer then. I will give you a message over the weekend and let you know how it is if that's ok
Question: Hi Rob,

Yes that sounds good to me, well I'll find that no problem, ok well just message whenever you have time once back and forewarn me the condition of the trailer, that'd be great.

Alastair - weeal74 (17-05-2013)
Response: Hi Alastair
We have been to see the boat yesterday. It would b easier to explain via txt messages. Could you make your bid then we can accept it and then swap numbers.
Question: Hi Nikki & Rob,

I've just placed my bid so you should be able to get my mobile number now, look forward to hearing from you shortly.

Alastair - weeal74 (20-05-2013)
Response: Hi Alastair
Thanks for that. I will accept the bid as I'm more than happy for you to collect the boat. My only concerns are the trailer after looking at it on Sunday. The tyres look fine and the old owners are going to put some more air in them. There are no mud guards on the trailer and I can't see a way of fixing them on. Have you got a number then I can send you a picture and you can see what you are dealing with.
--------------------------------
Hi again Alastair
I'm going to edit the listing and add a photo of the trailer so you can get a better look at it
Question: Hi Rob,
My number you can only get by accepting my bid, this site doesn't and won't allow it any other way. I'm not so worried about the mud guards really, more so given that as discussed I'll do the towing later on in the evening so even if it were to be raining there will be or should be next to no traffic, if there is then I'll just tow through the dead of night, that way all should be ok.

Alastair - weeal74 (20-05-2013)
Response: Hi Alastair
Did you have a look at the picture?
Question: Good morning Rob,

Yes I saw the picture, not a problem. As for air in the tyres, well I always carry a tyre guage and air compressor so that's not so much of a problem.
