Questions

Question: hi the sizes you have given are they L x w x h,are pallets/boxes stackable
what is the commodity loaded inside - howlett (01-02-2010)
Response: Yes, pallets are not stackable
it is aircraft seats inside the boxes

we are also looking for a cost of shipping by airfreight as well
Question: If these are aircraft seats would you please confirm that same are not military (ie: - fitted with ejection devices)Also are they new? + with such a high value I would recommend that a 40 foot container would be better.....can they be stacked on top of each other please???.....otherwise you would be looking at 1 x 40' & 1 x 20' container - roadking1340 (01-02-2010)
Response: They are standard commercial aircraft seats that will have been refurbished, We would not recommend that they are stacked due to the cardboard surround not being strong enough
Question: OK - then I will calculate a sea freight price based upon 1 x 40 ' & 1 x 20' container + an air freight comparison. - roadking1340 (02-02-2010)
Response: Can you please include actual leadtimes from pick up
Question: Although these seats cannot be stacked can they be turned and placed on each other thus cutting down the cube. - roadking1340 (02-02-2010)
Response: Sorry no, the seats need to stay as the packed item which cannot be stacked
Question: Hi.,
OK I have got both air and sea rates, however, I am 'snowed under' with jobs at present - as you are flexible on shipping can I please work on it later today and come back to you as it is rather involved??
Cheers
Eddy - roadking1340 (04-02-2010)
Response: I need to have a decision for 1pm Friday, we are looking to make the shipment at the end of Feb, the customer will decide if it is by sea or air.
Once all quotes are in we shall be making the decision as to who we use early next week
Question: OK you will have it later today - cheers Eddy - roadking1340 (04-02-2010)
Response: NO RESPONSE YET
Question: How were my quotations please???
Cheers
Eddy - roadking1340 (10-02-2010)
Response: You were a bit on the expensive side, but we have submitted all details to our customer and we are awaiting how they wish to proceed, whether that is us arranging or them taking ownership of all the transportation arrangements
Question: OK thanks - how much on the expensive side please?? - roadking1340 (10-02-2010)
Response: We had a quote of 11,700 via air and 4,500 via sea, all door to door
Question: No way!!
These figures are not representative of the freight volume. I suspect very strongly that they have quoted you for the freight being STACKABLE and perhaps they had not taken into account the FULL quantity of seats (69 + 29 = 98 boxes)Air freight chareable because of non stackable = 19,890 kilos whilst sea freight is 3 x 40 foot GP containers.
They have got to have got it wrong Shane! - roadking1340 (11-02-2010)
Response: NO RESPONSE YET
