We have not actually made this consignment yet so we do not know for sure what the sizes of the packs will be but; the anticipated sizes of the individual packs will be something like;
5.9 m x 1.2 m x 1.2 m
4.0 m x 1.2 m x 1.2 m

Whilst one cannot always rely upon the veracity of client's claims, this client tells me he has just air-freighted a similar weight / volume consignment from London to Hong Kong for little more than the sea freight price. I'll ask him who the airfreight company was. I have to admit it does seem a little unlikely to me.

Response: If you can offer the two alternative prices air cargo and sea cargo then I can put them to the client. The clients agent seems to think air cargo is only marginally more costly than sea. I think he is mistaken.

Question: how may of each pack pls

Response: 1 of each pack size, so 2 packs in all- though we can break each pack down to smaller packs if required - but not necessarily shorter packs.

Response: OK. In the 18 I was allowing a bit for error and air space in the packs. Its all a bit approximate at the moment because we have not assembled the order yet. The weight is 'about right'. For the moment all I am trying to do is to get some idea of the cost so that I can put some budget figures to the client. Is the cost a fiver or £100,000? Will it be so significantly cheaper by sea as to make it worth waiting that much longer for the delivery.
